Cullen Quitens his Critics

Last season he was the victim of some awful abuse on websites including this one, with one neanderthal suggesting that perhaps the great Christian Cullen wouldn’t do justice to some Junior side.

Last season he was the victim of some awful abuse on websites including this one, with one neanderthal suggesting that perhaps one of the most gifted footballer in the world, wouldn’t do justice to some Junior side.

There was little understanding of the difficulties Cullen experienced but this season he has turned the messageboard bile into songs of praise and that after just four games in the Celtic League.

And whereas last season he was almost singularly being blamed for Munster’s indifferent Celtic League form, this time around despte two defeats and a draw from four outings the begrudgers have become firm Christian soldiers while turning their attention to others in the side.

As things stand he is joint leading try scorer and if there were stats being done on the player with the most off-loads the Munster number 15 would be be among the leaders in that category also.

This week he will head off with his Munster team-mates to Scotland for the game against Glasgow and although he was on the easy list for most of the week after picking up a knock on the leg against llanelli, Cullen is quietly slipping into the groove and providing Munster with a sharper cutting edge out wide.
