In one the best games this competition has staged in a number of years, Leinster came extremely close to ending Munster’s three year unbeaten Interprovincial run in Clonatarf on Saturday, but had to settle for a hard fought draw in the end.

The home side got off to a flying start with the excellent Tania Rosser, superb for Leinster at scrum half, bagging two tries and helping her team to an 12-0 lead over the current champions.

Munster did manage to claw their way back to within two points before the break though with tries from Lynne Cantwell and Amanda Greenmsmith making it 12-10 at the turnaround.

Leinster pushed further ahead in the second half with a Carol Dunning try and a Joanne O Sullivan penalty but Munster were not to be denied a point and another try from Greenmisth and Vivian Boland late on saw the game end all square.

The sides will meet in the Interprovincial Final on October 23rd with Munsters’ long held title up for grabs against this rejuvenated Leinster outfit.
