Munster Rugby Supporters Club Launch Online Ticket Facility

The Munster Rugby Supporters Club successfully launched their new online ticket facility last week, and catered for close to 2000 transactions in the first three days of operation.

Tickets for the forthcoming Heineken Cup quarter-final clash between Munster and Perpignon have been made available to Munster Rugby Supporters Club members via the club s website – thanks to a new online ticket purchasing system developed and launched in partnership with award-winning web design specialists magico.ie.

The IT team from Ennis pulled out all stops to ensure the facility was established in time for Munster s biggest game of the season to date, at

Lansdowne Rdon 1st April. Supporters are allowed to buy 2 tickets using secure online payment methods, and to submit good luck messages to the team at the time of purchase.

A convenient, secure and efficient method of purchasing tickets, the facility will allow supporters to buy tickets for future games including Heineken Cup, Celtic League and other fixtures. Attendance at Supporters Club events, such as pre-match lunches and player evenings, will also be available for purchase via the site, with visitors having the ability to submit seating requests at the same time.

Access to the ticket purchasing system is strictly restricted to members of the Supporters Club and managed via a secure username and password arrangement. Ticket sales for the Heineken Cup quarter-final is being managed on a phase basis to avoid system overload, with different member sections able to buy their allocation at different times.

We had 5,000 hits on the website within an hour of informing members thankfully we upgraded our systems to cope with the anticipated surge in traffic. It justifies our investment in the technology and proves supporters want modern, convenient access to the club and its services. Hopefully it will encourage even more fans to become members of the official Supporters Club.

The new automated system replaces the previous manual ticket purchasing arrangement based around email and fax. It will save a huge amount of administration effort by voluntary members of the Supporters Club and will offer a much smoother and quicker ticket-buying experience for the supporter.
