Cork City Council have acted in accord with their Limerick counterparts by granting full planning permission for the redevelopment of a new Stand at Musgrave Park.
The new Musgrave Park complex will include Administration Offices, Changing and Medical Facilites and Gymnasium while providing 6,570 seats that will bring the capacity of the ground up to 12,500.
When the Thomond Park development is completed it will provide a ground capacity of 26,000. Chief Executive Garrett Fitzgerald commenting said, "Everyone associated with rugby in Munster is delighted with this positive news, especially leading into a challenging weekend for the Munster team.The permissions granted for both venues is a further step towards our ambition to remain constantly at the forefront of European Rugby following on last year’s Heineken Cup win."
