1st February 2007 By Munster Rugby

No matter which way you turn ahead of this weekend’s opening round of RBS Six Nations matches there are very few who are predicting anything other than Ireland emerging Six Nations champions.

No matter which way you turn ahead of this weekend’s opening round of RBS Six Nations matches there are very few who are predicting anything other than Ireland emerging Six Nations champions.

Baggot Racing and Ladbrokes both offer Ireland at 6-4 to win the championship with France at 5-2 and Ireland’s hosts on Sunday, Wales 9-2.

Meanwhile if polls conducted on the Planet Rugby and Rugby.ie are anything to go by then Ireland are home and hosed.

48% of those polled on Planet Rugby opted for Ireland to win the championship with  17% choosing England  and 14% opting for Wales .

Rugby.ie was even more emphatic, 72% polled going for an Irish championship win with France next best on 11%.
