Paul Darbyshire formerly with English Rugby League side Warrington Wolves, has been appointed Head of Fitness and Conditioning in Munster.

Paul Darbyshire formerly with English Rugby League side Warrington Wolves, has been appointed  Head of Fitness and Conditioning in Munster.

37 year old Darbyshire spent the past 18 years with the Super League side except for an 18 month period in the mid 90s when he played for Western Suburbs in Australia. On his return to Warrington, he was assistant coach before becoming Head of Conditioningunder coach Paul Cullen.

A native of Wigan, Deabyshire experienced the Union code at the start of his career playing with Orrell and in the recent past has been involved at coaching level with Broughton Park and Waterloo RFC.

Darbyshire arrived in Cork yesterday (Tuesday) evening to begin work with the Munster squad straight away.

Wolves coach Cullen commented, ” I’m very disappointed to lose such a loyal servant to the club, a very good coach and conditioner and also a good mate.”
