Munster Win a Game of Two Halves

After a four try second half blitz Munster claim a bonus point victory in Thomond Park, defeating Ulster 35-10.

Despite trailing by four points at halftime as Ulster led 10-6 Munster produced a very different second half performance to give them victory in Thomond Park tonight.

Ulster opened the scoring after a Paddy Wallace penalty in the ninth minute and further extended their lead when number 6 TJ Anderson scored the only try of the half, and with Wallace converting the visitors held a 10 point lead.

It was the sixteenth minute before Paul Warwick got Munster on the scoreboard after missing his initial penalty attempt, he added a second on the half hour mark to close the gap to four points.

With Ulster looking the more intense and threatening side Munster had it all to do in the second half, and that they did.

Ulster were kept scoreless in the final 40 while Munster crossed the line on four occasions with tries from Denis Hurley, Tommy O'Donnell, Barry Murphy and Lifeimi Mafi.

Warwick added three conversions and a penalty to give Munster a final 35-10 bonus point win against Ulster.

Most disappointingly, Jerry Flannery, who came on in the 52nd minute lasted all of 28 minutes before being carried off with what appeared to be the same injury.

Munster: Scott Deasy; Doug Howlett, Keith Earls, Sam Tuitupou, Denis Hurley; Paul Warwick, Peter Stringer; Wian du Preez, Damien Varley, Peter Borlase; Donnacha Ryan, Mick O'Driscoll; Billy Holland, Niall Ronan, Denis Leamy capt . Replacements: Jerry Flannery, Darragh Hurley, Tony Buckley, Paddy Butler, Tommy O'Donnell, Tomas O'Leary, Lifeimi Mafi, Barry Murphy
