GUINNESS PRO12 Weekend Fixtures Announced

Season fixtures have been announced for the 2014/15 GUINNESS PRO12 with Munster once again hosting Edinburgh Rugby in their opening encounter on the weekend of September 5/6/7.

With the redevelopment of Musgrave Park now underway, all pre-Christmas fixtures will be played at Thomond Park, while four PRO12 games for the refurbished Cork venue will be scheduled for the New Year.

Following Round 1, Munster will travel to Italy to face Benetton Treviso before returning to Limerick a week later for more Italian opposition in the form of Zebre in Round 3.

The province returns to home action in Round 4 against Ospreys on the weekend of September 26/27/28, ahead of Munster’s first inter-provincial clash away to Leinster at the RDS the following weekend.

Round 6 sees the Scarlets travel to Limerick on the weekend of October 10/11/12, and new signing Robin Copeland could face his old side Cardiff Blues when Munster travel to the Welsh capital for Round 7 three weeks later.

Munster complete a trio of back to back Welsh clashes away to Newport Gwent Dragons on the weekend of November 21/22/23, ahead of their first home interprovincial against Ulster in Round 9 a week later.

The province will hope to avenge last season’s PRO12 semi-final defeat when they return to Scotstoun stadium to face Glasgow Warriors on the weekend of December 19/20/21, in a game which could feature former Munster centre James Downey. While a week later it’s back to interprovincial action as the province will play host to the current PRO12 champions Leinster at Thomond Park.
