Munster Race So Far…

Just over three hours in, we give you a brief synopsis of the happenings so far on this year’s Munster Race, as player’s complete challenges and meet fans across the 6 counties.

Group 1 have caught up with the Coastguard crew in Doolin and Johne Murphy gave Damien Varley a kick in the arse Bishop Brennan style at Father Ted’s house. Later the lads are planning a game of beach tag in Kilkee at 2:30 this afternoon – pop down for a game!

Group 2, despite an Ian Keatley fender bender, went on the beat in the Templemore Garda College before heading for the Thurles RFC Summer Camp at 1pm. Later the lads will have to complete a Deep RiverRock Water Challenge at Morrisseys Super Valu, Cashel at 3pm.

Group 3 spent the morning selling blaas for charity in Waterford City, gave away tickets to the pre-season London Irish encounter while visiting the Waterford RSC and hit Tramore beach at 12:30. The lads are now looking for a gym en route to Kinsale for their mandatory 45min workout.

Group 4 dressed some mannequins in Timberland gear and hit the English Market in Cork city centre this morning, before rowing along Cobh harbour and arriving at the Titanic bar & Grill where they met fans on arrival. Kanturk is next on their agenda this afternoon.

Group 5 were the first to complete the players mandatory gym session this morning, doing so at the Bodybuilding Gym in Raheen before taking a dip in the river with fans at Killaloe. Donnacha Ryan and Keith Earls later took a lift on a pony and trap in Limerick city and the lads are currently holding a lunchtime meet and greet for Estuary RFC in Shanagolden before making their way to Killarney.

Group 6 met with fans as the sun shone in Bandon RFC, before trying to flog papers on the streets of Clonakilty for the Irish Independent Challenge, as well as having a feed of Clonakilty Black Pudding. They will head for Bantry this afternoon.
