The Munster squad assembled in Cork yesterday as they continue preparations for this Saturday’s Guinness PRO12 opener against Benetton Treviso at Irish Independent Park on Saturday night – KO 7:45pm.

Following the confirmation of World Cup squads earlier this week, both sides are without a number of their frontline players for the opening rounds of the PRO12. Five Munster representatives are included in the Ireland World Cup squad with nine Treviso players winning inclusion in the Italian side.
Incidentally, of the top three European leagues, it’s the Guinness PRO12 that has the highest representation at this year’s World Rugby showpiece. The Aviva Premiership has 89 players with 85 representatives from the Top 14, while the Guinness PRO12 features 107 players across 10 countries.
