Getting To Know Sam Arnold

We chat with centre Sam Arnold who makes the move to Munster from Ulster where he made 14 senior appearances including his Champions Cup debut, starting on the wing against Oyannax in Charles Mathon in January.

Arnold, who hails from England, made his Guinness PRO12 debut as an 18-year-old against Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade in March 2015 and completed the season as Ulster Rugby's Academy Player of the Year. 
 
The former Exiles representative joins Munster on a two-year deal.

Biggest influence on career: My Mum and Andy Houston my old school coach
 
Best career advice you were given: Keep your head down and keep working hard
 
What you like most/least about being a rugby player: Being able to eat a lot of food / injuries and fitness sessions
 
Other sports that you played: Football when I was younger but I wasn’t much use though!
 
Best rugby memory: Playing against Oyonnax in the Champions Cup this season
 
Rugby player you admire most: Brian O'Driscoll or Michael Hooper
 
Rugby team you admire most: British and Irish Lions
 
Sporting event you would most like to attend: The Superbowl
 
Three people you would invite to dinner and why: Jessica Alba, Conor Oliver (Munster Academy and housemate) & Kanye West. Kanye because he seems very eccentric and I’d like to see what he is like in person.  Jessica Alba because she just seems friendly… And Conor because he'd never forgive me if I met her and I didn't invite him!
 
Place in the province you most like be / chill out: Haven't explored much yet so would be chilling out at home for now.
 
Have you any pre-match rituals: Try to relax and read over the game plan 
 
Fav song or band you like to train to or listen to before a game: The Fray or J. Cole 
 
Who would you least like to room with and why: Stephen Fitzgerald for many reasons that I had better not go into!
