Munster Rugby Credit Card
As a Munster Rugby Club member one way in which you can indirectly contribute to the club is to apply for the specially designed Munster Rugby credit card which is issued by MBNA. A generous contribution is made by MBNA to Munster Rugby Club each time a new credit card member is approved, each time the card is used and each year on the anniversary of the card opening date.
The offer available to Munster Rugby Club members at present is 0% on Balance Transfers, Money Transfers and Credit Card Cheque transactions for 12 months and 15.9% (variable) thereafter and on card purchases.
What is a Balance Transfer
A Balance Transfer simply means that you could save money by moving the amount that you owe on a higher interest rate credit card or loan account to your MBNA credit card account and avail of the 0% promotional offer because your repayments will be lower. Remember though that the promotion is only for 12 months after which period the offer will revert to 15.9%. It is also worth bearing in mind that charges may be incurred for the early settlement of other loans, so as a first step it is worth checking with your lender before you make any moves.
What is a Money Transfer
A money transfer is when you transfer money from your MBNA credit card to your current account. It gives you instant cash and how you decide to spend the money is up to you.
• Example 1: If you have a car loan with your local bank you can clear the balance with your money transfer (your credit limit from MBNA) and pay it back to MBNA at 0% interest for the duration of the offer (12 months)
• Example 2: You can use the money you have transferred in to your current account to purchase that holiday you have been thinking about taking.
You should remember that if you breach the terms and conditions of the offer at any stage the promotional rate (0%) will be withdrawn from the beginning of that statement period. This means that you must pay your minimum monthly payment by the due date and you should not go over your agreed credit limit. You will find all this information clearly explained in the terms and conditions which you will receive once the account is opened. It will also be on your monthly statement.
