The Editor
The programme is designed for elite players and selection into the Academy is through a comprehensive screening process over a number of seasons. This process includes observation during matches, inclusion in Munster Rugby Summer and Sub-Academy programmes, a range of physical competency and capacity tests, a medical examination and a final interview.
The sub-academy group operates throughout the season providing supervised conditioning and skills sessions as an additional screening process for future Academy members.
The performances on the pitch with your School, Club and Representative team are also closely monitored by the staff from the Development Office, the Academy and members of the senior coaching staff.
Additional feedback from School, Club and Representative Coaches is taken into consideration by the Academy Board before final selection of candidates is made.
