Frankie Sheahen Withdraws From Llanelli Game

Anguish for Munster this evening with news that Frankie Sheahen will join Jim Williams and John O’Neill by having to Withdraw from Saturday’s game. Frankie will be replaced by James Blaney.

Munster received some bad news this afternoon with the news that Frankie Sheahen will join Jim Williams and John O’Neill by having to Withdraw from Saturday’s game against Llanelli in Stradey Park.

Frankie is not happy with his shoulder and therefore is forced to withdraw and make way for James Blaney in the starting XV. John Fogarty will join the replacements.

Jim Williams was forced to withdraw yesterday due to personal reasons. He will be replaced by Eddie Halvey, with Colin McMahon joining the bench.John O’Neill’s ankle is also preventing him from playing on Saturday. His ankle has been injured for a while, and even though he trained all week with the rest of the squad, it is felt that one more week’s rest will ensure that he is back to 100%!. John will be replaced by Mossie Lawlor.

The Munster squad completed a “Captain’s Run” this evening in Llanelli’s ground Stradey Park. And will now get some dinner and rest in their hotel for tomorrow’s game. Conditions are currently wet and windy in Wales, but will improve by tomorrow, leaving Stradey Park dry and hopefully sunny.
