Munster v Connacht – Match Preview

The Munster team assembled in Jury’s Hotel today ahead of their Celtic League clash with Connacht in Musgrave Park with coach Alan Gaffney putting the final touches to his squad when he finalised the replacement bench.

Denis Leamy gets the nod over Eddie Halvey and the replacements include, Simon Kerr, James Blaney, Mick O’Driscoll, Dominic Malone, Mike Prendergast and Conor Mahony who now plays his club rugby with Clontarf.

The forwards conducted their usual pre-match line-out drill in a nearby school just after lunch before returning indoors for their pre-match meal at 3pm. The mood in the Munster camp is one of caution with the players expecting Connacht to “come at us with all guns blazing.”

According to coach Alan Gaffney it’s going to be “as tight and as tough a game as we’ve had or are likely to have. Connacht are a good side, make no mistake, and firstly we’ll need to be right on our game and then get the breaks if we are to go any further.”

And that’s the thing about tonight’s game it’s win or bust for both sides.
