Munster continue to be dogged by injury with Paul O’Connell now ruled out for five to six weeks after sustaining a broken thumb in the victory over Ulster in Thomond Park.
O’Connell delivered a virtuoso performance for the eventual winners before departing in the 62nd minute. However, examination on the morning following the game determined the extent of the damage and later in the day he was seen attending the Old Crescent/Young Munster AIB League game with the hand in plaster.
The other injurr worry concerns Anthony Horgan who retired after 23 minutes having damaged a hamstring. He will see a specialist later today (sat) to determine the extent of the damage.
