Holders Kilfeacle needed an injury time penalty from Mark Hanly to beat St. Senan’s 14-13. Charleville needed extra time to beat the Munster Seconds League leaders Dolphin 17-16. Shannon won the top game of the day, when they defeated Garryowen 13-3. Favourites Cork Constitution had an easy win over Kinsale and Clanwilliam easily saw off the challenge of Old Crescent 24-7. Midleton received a walk over from Fermoy and both the Bruff v Cashel and UCC v Waterpark tie were postponed.
