There were victories for all four home sides in the quarter finals of the Heineken Munster Junior Cup. Holders Kilfeacle had to rely on an injury time penalty from Packie Hallissey to see off U.L Bohs
There were victories for all four home sides in the quarter finals of the Heineken Munster Junior Cup. Holders Kilfeacle had to rely on an injury time penalty from Packie Hallissey to see off the challenge of U.L. Bohemian 13-11.
It was a battle of kickers at Nenagh, where the home side came out on top 28-18 in a thriller, as the lead changed hands on several occasions. Liam Delaney kicked 23 of his sides points and Eamon Buckley kicked all of Clanwilliam’s eighteen points. Cork Constitution saw off the challenge of Thurles 26-0 and Alan Early scored all of Clonmel’s points in their 16-9 win over St. Mary’s. Bruff are the new leaders in the First Division on points difference, after their 38-20 win over Crosshaven. Castleisland moved closer to the Second Division, after their 27-11 defeat by Cobh Pirates. Bandon moved into third place after their 27-10 win at home against Richmond.
Both Muskerry and Douglas failed to take over the leadership in the Second Division. Muskerry were held 9-9 in Tralee. Douglas lost at Kanturk 17-12 and Old Christians kept their hopes alive with a 26-15 win over Waterford City. Charleville moved to with in a point of Galbally in the Third Division and still have a game in hand after their 77-0 win against Killarney.
