“Home advantage will be a big factor of course and we’d like to think we can beat Munster. We’ve not done too badly in the European Cup or the League here at home in the last few years. But it’s going to be a very tough game for us we know how strong Munster are but we’ll be quietly confident. The week after the defeat by England was pretty interesting really. I got back on Tuesday morning and it was straight back into the usual slog. We had a couple of sessions on Tuesday, one on Thursday, Friday off and now we are back at it full tilt for the final.
The game against Sale will stand to us and it’s good to have with Austin (Healey) back playing again as he looked extremely well in the Sale game and even managed a Try. ” I suppose it’s a little bit strange to be playing against some of my international teammates all right I mean I’ve been living with them for the past seven weeks So yes it will be a little unusual but then again I’m looking forward to it.
I expect it to be a good match, I won’t expect any mercy from the boys and I don’t think they’ll ask for any from me. It is of course going to be a tough game. Munster are always there or thereabouts and they have tended to do well at this stage of the competition, the quarter final, away from home. We’re aware of that. We know how strong they are. They’ve beaten all the top sides. They’ve done everything except win the European Cup.
On the thorny subject of the ticket issue ? “It would have been a lot easier on me in sorting out tickets for family and friends if they’d played at Twickenham or even Leicester City football ground which is just down the road. There was talk of that for a while, but for some reason, the powers that be thought that wasn t such a great idea. So yeah, I was a bit disappointed but such is life. I don’t make those decisions I just have to pull the boots on and go and play and that’s what I’ll go and try do.
