Brennan Praises Munster

Irishman Trevor Brennan paid due respects to Munster after his Toulouse side edged through to the Heineken Cup final.

”Munster showed fantastic spirit throughout the game,” said Brennan who moved to Toulouse at the start of the season.

”They are a superbly-organised side that just never know when to give up.

”It was hard going and I felt we just got a few lucky breaks out there on Saturday.

”For a while I did not think we were going to break them down. Ronan O’Gara kept putting us back 50 or 60 metres every time he got the ball.

”Even when they were behind, Ronan had three chances to win the game with drop goals. If one had of gone over we were history.

”Being an Irishman I have an aweful lot of respect for Munster and what they achieved in Europe,” said Brennan who cannot believe he is on his way home for the big decider.

”To get this far, though, and to be part of this Toulouse side is tremendous. It’s something I won’t forget.”
