Celtic League Sponsorship Search Goes On

Celtic Rugby is still actively searching for a major title sponsor for the Celtic League and Celtic Cup tournaments, which kicks off next month. The Celtic League will be embarking on its third season while the Celtic Cup is a new introduction to the rugby calendars of the 12 professional sides from Ireland, Scotland and Wales. “In all my eight years involved with the marketing of the game I have never come across a package of this outstanding value,” said Keith Grainger, the Tournament Director. “There will be television cameras at every single game; we now have a full-blown Celtic League of 11 home and 11 away matches that mirrors the ultra successful English Zurich Premiership. The Celtic Cup will add the spice of the sudden death element and there is an opportunity for a business partner to join is at the start of what will be a very exciting journey.

“That partner will enjoy all the usual benefits such as tournament naming rights, pitch stencilling and hospitality options as well as television advertising boards and promotional opportunities at all the grounds and on all our web sites. Together with the huge written media benefits and awareness levels offered by the tournaments, I’m convinced that we have a product which offers unrivalled value not only in the three competing nations but across the northern hemisphere game. “For the last three years we have employed a sports agency to present our case but we recently parted company and, for the time being at least, I will be dealing directly with all matters of this nature. So, with barely a month to go – the chase sill goes on. “I’m confident that when we knock on the right door we will get a warm welcome. This is an outstanding opportunity for a business to penetrate the rugby audience and the general public through huge levels of awareness. With only four weeks to go it’s a tall order but, if there’s a company out there ready to share the ride, we’re prepared to include sponsorship and naming rights of the Celtic Cup in with the Celtic League package for the first two seasons.”
