Well Done John and Enjoy the Show!.
University Concert Hall are delighted to announce that Alone It Stands is back to where it all began, in Limerick, the home of the world spirit of rugby, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the most famous rugby match ever, Munster’s historic win over the All Blacks in Thomond Park.
Presented by Lane Productions, Alone It Stands is a unique play, where the author John Breen has managed to combine sport with the dramatic arts to great effect. The match has been described as the rugby equivalent of Cobh Ramblers beating Brazil at soccer, and is a hugely entertaining event that will have audiences in fits of laughter.
A special Gala Performance will take place on Saturday 1st November to honour the 1978 team. Each team member will receive a specially commissioned sterling silver medal to mark the 25th Anniversary of this historic win.
Members of the 1978 team will be in attendance including Moss Keane, Gerry McLoughlin, Pat Whelan and Larry Maloney to name a few. Members of the current Munster squad will also be in attendance as well as local dignitaries, including the Mayor of Limerick, Dick Sadlier. Well-known Live 95fm Rugby commentator Len Dineen will introduce the 1978 team members, and there will be a little prezzie for everyone in the audience.
