Benetton Treviso earned their first victory of the 2003/4 Heineken Cup with a 42-33 win over Bourgoin at Stadio Comunale di Monigo.
This was the first ever win for Treviso over French opposition, and proof that club structure in the ‘sixth nation’ of European rugby is developing fast.
The Italian outfit collected maximum points as they hauled themselves off the foot of the Pool table, and in doing so they leapfrop their Gallic opponents and move into third spot behind Munster and Gloucester.
Both sides scored five tries each, and in doing so earned themselves a bonus point. Treviso now have five points from three matches, while Bourgoin have just two points from their three games played.
How the Pool 5 Table Looks: Gloucester 14 Munster 9 Benetton Treviso 5 Bourgoin 2
All Teams have played 3 Games.
