U.C.C. defeated Corinthians in Galway 40-8 and with a game against U.L. Bohemian at home next week, a victory will see them win the league and an automatic place in the All Ireland qualifiers.

Bruff completed their program with a 36-7 home win over Young Munster and currently lead Garryowen and U.C.C. by a point at the top of the table. David Horan scored two tries for the winners and Jack Cott, Cathal O Riordan, Ger Hannon and Michael Carroll got one each. Brian Carroll kicked three conversions.

Bohemian secured could prove very valuable, as a point from next week s encounter in Cork would give them the last remaining play off spot, otherwise they would be involved in a play off with Corinthians and Sundays Well. Cork Constitution defeated Sunday s Well 17-11 in the Cork derby at Temple Hill. The visitor led 11-8 at half time with a try from Austin Finn and two penalties from Willie Hederman to a penalty from Simon Keenan and a try from Dara Lyons.

Three second half penalties from Keenan secured the points for the home side. U.L. Bohemian continued their good run with a 34-5 home win over Dolphin in the Munster Seconds League. Julian Leonard was top scorer with two tries and two conversions. Darragh Nichols also got two tries and Kevin Flannigan and James O Neill scored one each.

The Webb Cup is now down to the quarter final stage after the completion of the remaining first and second round ties. Thurles are the only non Limerick side left in the competition after their 24-10 win away to Scariff. They now face Abbeyfeale in the next round after the West Limerick side defeated Richmond 12-5. Old Crescent had a hard earned 20-18 home win over Cashel and will now face Bruff in the game of the round.

Garryowen had a narrow 19-17 win away to Nenagh Ormond and have been rewarded with a home tie against St. Senan s, while Young Munster who defeated U.L. Bohemian 6-0 will play Presentation at Rathuard. Kilfeacle defeated Galbally 26-8 to win the East Munster Under 18 League Final. A 10th minute injury time penalty from Francis Moynihan gave Sunday s Well a surprise 10-8 win over Highfield in the South decider.

Thomond s 25-6 win over Richmond made sure that they will the North Munster representatives in the semi-finals when they will travel to Cork to face Sunday s Well.
