News that John Hayes of Ireland and Munster has rejoined Bruff where he started his rugby career has been greeted with great jubilation by all rugby supporters in South East County Limerick.
Hayes currently on tour with the Irish team in South Africa came up through the Bruff underage structure before going to New Zealand and joined Shannon on his return. His brother Tom who won All Ireland U16 and U18 All Ireland medals with Bruff captained Shannon to win the AIL earlier this year and his other brother Mike also played with Bruff before joining Shannon. He is now affiliated to Bruff as a Munster referee.
Commenting on the signing Bruff President, David O Keeffe said We are absolutely over the moon that John Hayes has decided to sign for Bruff. It is a great boost to us facing our first season in senior rugby in the A.I.L. 3rd division .
Continuing he said: We hope this will encourage the 10 other players who came up through the club s underage structure and now playing with other senior clubs to return .
This news follows hot on the heels of the decision of Finbarr Hogan to return from Young Munster and a few others are also considering rejoining Bruff from other well known clubs.
