Munster U21s suffered a narrow defeat against Newport in Rodney Parade, going down 27-24, having trailed 17-15 at half time.

Wing Paul Hurley scored a brace of tries for Munster with Breffni O’Donnell scoring a third and Barry Keeshan converting all three as well as adding a drop goal.
Munster used this game as a warm up to the Interprovincial series that begins next Saturday with a game against Connacht in Thomond Park (2.30pm).
