For those wishing to kick start a feast of rugby at the weekend, Friday night will see Cork Constitution host Young Munster in the last quarter final of the Munster Senior Cup at Temple Hill (March 11th) at 7pm.
Both sides will be hoping to secure the remaining semi final place and go on to face defending champions Shannon on Saturday 19th. It has been quite a while since either team won the Senior Cup, with Cork Con last claiming the title in 1989, and Young Munster taking the title the following year.
With Shannon currently riding high at the top of the AIL Division 1, and aiming to clinch their 6th Munster Senior Cup title in a row, their opponents will have face a tough challenge in unseating the champions.
Cork Constitution had a 13-5 victory away to Dolphin in the first round, while Young Munster ended Bruff s campaign with a 16-8 result.
With the winners of Friday night s clash scheduled to meet Shannon, UCC and last year s runners up Garryowen will meet in the other semi final on March 20th. UCC beat Waterpark with a comfortable 33-7 victory in their quarter final, while Garryowen had a close 13-10 win over Thomond.
