On Saturday evening Munster supporters have the opportunity to bid farewell to Alan Gaffney when he makes his last appearance in Thomond Park as coach of the Munster team.
The quarter final Celtic Cup game against Edinburgh marks the last time that a Gaffney prepared Munster side will perform on Munster soil and it expected that supporters will turn up in their droves to acknowledge the popular Australian’s contribution to rugby in the province over the past three seasons.
Gaffney is expected to name his strongest possible side although there will be no Ronan O’Gara or Brian Lima while veterans Jim Williams and Jason Holland both face fitness tests in the course of the week.
