The Munster Branch held a going away party last Monday in Heineken HQ in Cork where the departing coach was joined by members of the Branch, Munster Squad members, Munster Supporter Club members and a host of friends who gathered to thank him and wish him Bon Voyage.

The Munster Supporters Club s presentation was a specially commissioned bookcase, which was hand made from a variety of natural Irish Timbers. The handles of the unit formed a rugby ball, which was specially engraved to mark the occasion.

The beautiful unit was manufactured by Kingsriver Community, Ennisnag, Stoneyford, Co. Kilkenny.

John Rochford (MSC) spoke in glowing terms about Alan Gaffney, Alan is the ultimate gentleman, who always made time to talk to the Supporters. The club felt they could not let the occasion pass, without showing our appreciation for his time with Munster. We know he is a prolific book reader, We hope this will constantly remind Alan of his time in Ireland an especially his time with Munster. Lorraine assured us that it would take pride of place in their home back in Australia.

Picture shows L to R: Patrick Phelan (Kingsriver Community), Lorraine and Alan Gaffney with John Rochford from the Supporters Club making the presentation.
