Munster skipper Anthony Foley has been voted the Heineken Cup Player of the Decade while the Lansdowne Road, Munster v London Wasps semi-final clash has been deemed the game of the century
Munster skipper Anthony Foley has been voted the Heineken Cup Player of the Decade while the Lansdowne Road, Munster v London Wasps semi-final clash has been voted the best game in the ten year history of the competition.
The Poll was conducted on the official ERC website and Foley picked up a staggering 65% of the 100,000+ votes counted. In second place, a long way behind, was Martin Johnson who collected almost forty thousand votes less than Foley.
Not only does Foley hold the record of 67 Heineken Cup appearances, he also features on the leading try scorer list in third position with 20 tries, behind Toulouse pair, Michel Marfaing (24) and Emile Ntamack (21) and ahead of such notables as Neil Back, Christophe Dominici, Ben Cohen and Leinster’s Lion, Denis Hickie (16).
