A much improved second half performance earned the Lions a 30-19 win over Otago in Carisbrook after the sides were tied 13-13 at the interval.

Then Nick Evans edged the home side ahead with an early penalty but a try from Ryan Jones signalled the start of Lions domination and with their pack taking control, they easily contained the Otago threat for the remainder of the game.
