New Season’s Club Fixtures

The club fixtures for next season are now available on the web under Fixtures.

The club fixtures for next season are now available on the web under Fixtures. Due to the new format for the Munster Senior Cup which begins at the end of September and that five sides from Munster will qualify for the new cup competition being introduced next season for AIL clubs, the present format for the Munster Senior League will not go ahead. Instead the competition will be played by the eleven sides that fail to qualify for this competition with the sides split into two sections and the winners meeting in the final. The Senior Cup Final will be played on Saturday 31st December and the season will begin for the senior clubs with the Charity Cups in Cork and Limerick at the start of September. Two junior clubs Cobh Pirates and Crosshaven will contest the Cork Charity Cup which is being contested for the 101st time. The junior clubs begin their season with the opening rounds of the Heineken Munster Junior Clubs Challenge Cup. The first round which will have two games, Kinsale v Presentation and Galbally against Killarney will be played on September 24th with the second round scheduled for the week after with the remaining clubs in action. The Heineken Munster Junior League will be in the same format as last season with three sections of eight and the fixtures are a reverse of last season. The Liam Fitzgerald Cup will be on a league basis with all finals being played on a neutral venue. Division Three of the league is reduced from thirteen sides to ten next season.
