Attention all 35+ rugby players and former rugby players. Relive the glory days by joining Munster Golden Oldies. Finally, get your chance to play for Munster! Applications now being taken.

MUNSTER GOLDEN OLDIES RUGBY is becoming increasingly popular and is available for the over 35 s who wish to play and enjoy the game they have loved for years … and in many cases, years and years!! This offers supporters a unique opportunity to become a member of the Golden Oldies squad to play for Munster.

You do not have to be a former Munster player however you must have played rugby within the last few years and be a member of a MBIRFU rugby club. Generally, the normal laws or rules of the game apply, with some minor alterations such as unlimited substitution, shorter playing times (three 20 minute periods) and at all times, the emphasis is on fun! This team will be affiliated to MBIRFU with all the necessary player insurance. There will be a competition to name the team so please send your ideas to info@munsterrugby.ie. The winner will receive a signed Munster Legend Moss Keane’s new book to be published in October.

MEMBERSHIP

The cost of the membership is ( 150).

TRAVEL

Travel bookings for the Golden Oldies away trips are being arranged through Munster Sports Travel. A trip will typically consist of same day, one or two night stay.

The Golden Oldies team will travel together as a squad and the cost of the trip is to be paid by each player. Proposed matches will be played prior/post senior matches. Seats on the Munster Squad s official chartered plane or on scheduled flights have been reserved for the three Heineken Cup pool away matches. Details of the package costs will be announced shortly but will include flights, admission to the ground for the Senior match and includes accommodation for one night in a 3 or 4 Star hotel. Insurance is also covered in your package.

Munster Golden Oldies are inviting players to send in applications for the Club which will have a limited number as each squad member will be guaranteed at least one match.
