The Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Junior Cup resumes this week, with all four quarter final second round games taking place.

Quarter Finals- Round Two

After a break from competition last week due to mid term holidays, the Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Cup competitions resume this week, with the Munster Schools Junior Cup quarter final second round games taking place.

Defending champions Ard Scoil Ris will travel to Cork to play Presentation Brothers College on Wednesday in Musgrave Park. Ard Scoil Ris will be looking to make amends for their outing in the first round of the quarter finals, when they suffered a 25-10 defeat to Crescent College Comprehensive. Presentation Brothers College are also coming into this game on the back of a 15-14 defeat to Rockwell College, and with one of the teams to be knocked out of the competition after this round, its all to play for on Wednesday. The winners of those first round games, Rockwell College and Crescent College Comprehensive will face off at Clonmel RFC also on Wednesday. On Thursday, Castletroy College will play Glenstal Abbey School at with the losers also knocked out of this year s competition. Both teams suffered defeats in their quarter final first round games, with St. Munchin s College having a 14-3 win over Castletroy College, and last year s beaten finalists Christian Brothers College claiming a 29-10 win over Glenstal Abbey School. St. Munchin s College and Christian Brothers College will also play on Thursday. All games have a 3pm kick off.

A new look Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Junior Cup competition has been introduced for this season, with a revitalised format ensuring that the last eight schools in the competition will have at least two matches in three rounds of quarter finals, rather than a straight knock out.
