Munster Welcomes Murty!

Munster Rugby is delighted to announce that Murty has been chosen as the name of the Munster mascot.

Munster Rugby is delighted to announce that Murty has been chosen by our panel as the name for the Munster mascot. While taking the public vote into consideration, the panel, which included members of the Munster team and management, came to their final decision after much deliberation.

Murty was the name suggested by a number of members of the public, and so a draw was held to decide the winner. Annemarie Cunningham, Kinsalebeg, Youghal, Co. Cork suggested Murty as the mascot s name, and having come out of the draw, she wins two tickets to Munster v Perpignan on April 1^st.

There was a huge response to the competition, with over 600 names suggested and almost 12,000 people voting on the website.

Roboprop

Rua

The four runners up all receive a Munster Rugby jersey from the Munster Rugby Store. Again, a draw was made when the suggested name was entered by more than one person to decide the winners.

The runners up are:

• Roboprop- Bertie Goulding, 6 Glenside, Grange, Douglas, Cork
• Rua- Camille Fitzpatrick, Corbally, Co. Limerick

Munster Rugby would like to thank everyone who suggested names for the mascot, and polled on the website. We would also like to thank Elaine Blackshields, from the Munster Supporters Club for collating and processing all entries.

Competition Rules

• Closing date for nominations: Friday 10^th March 2006. Website poll open until Friday 24^th March 2006.
• Competition open to all supporters of Munster Rugby
• Entries by email only
• Each separate entry must be on a separate email
• Multiple entries allowed
• Nominated names must be a maximum of 10 characters
• In the event of two or more people suggesting the same name that is then shortlisted, a draw will be made to select the nominee.
• The winner will be the person whose suggested name is chosen as the name for the mascot
• The prizes are as described, however, if this prize is unavailable, another prize of equal value will be given. There will be no cash alternative to the prizes. No Purchase necessary.
• The four runners up will receive a Munster Rugby jersey from the Munster Rugby Store
• The public vote will be taken into consideration, but Munster Rugby reserves the right of final approval. Decision is final.
