Edinburgh Gunners have also lost their last three games in the Celtic League, however the Gunners won on their last visit to Ireland: 27-13 against Leinster at Donnybrook on 6 November.

Munster have won the last four games they have played against Edinburgh since the Gunners last win in the series: 28-17 at Cork in April 2004.

Munster coach Declan Kidney is expected to name a squad after training today for the crucial Celtic League clash on Saturday.

Meanwhile former Munster coach Alan Gaffney is rumoured to be favourite to become the Director of Rugby at English Premier side Saracens.

Saracens chief executive Mark Sinderberry told The Guardian: “Gaffney is one of the people we spoke to. We expect to make an announcement in the next couple of days as we finalise who will be our new director of rugby.”

Gaffney, who has also worked with Leinster, is understood to be the leading candidate but faces competition from former Italy coach John Kirwan and Nigel Melville, who has been in charge of both Wasps and Gloucester.
