Munster are expected to name their extended squad later today for the trip to Wales, a six day trip that includes matches against Ospreys (Fri) and Llanelli Scarlets (Tues). It is likely that coach Declan Kidney will bring 28 players for the games that will go a long way to deciding their fate the Celtic League.
As things stand Munster lie in fourth place on 57 points, seven points adrift of leaders Leinster but with a game in hand. Leinster however have much the easier run-in starting on Sunday with a game against Glasgow Warriors in Firhill.
Munster came out of the game last weekend against Border Reivers with injury to Frank Roche, Jerry Flannery, John Hayes, David Wallace, Jeremy Manning and Ian Dowling. Of those Frank Roche is the most serious with a calf injury while the others are not as serious as first thought.
Further good news for Munster was the appearance at squad training earlier in the week of Frank Sheahan who took a limited part while Alan Quinlan continues to make good progress in his recovery from the injury sustained in the first Heineken Cup game against Sale Sharks.
