Additional Heineken Cup Final Ticket Allocation
6th May 2006 By Munster Rugby
The additional Heineken Cup final tickets allocated to Munster will be distributed through the normal channels such as Munster Clubs, Munster Supporters Club, Sponsors and Commercial partners
Paul O’Connell, Christian Cullen and Gary Connolly were among those who picked up injuries in the Celtic League defeat in Swansea on Friday night. O’Connell and Cullen both suffered ankle injuries while Connolly looked the most serious after damaging medial ligaments having come on as a 60th minute replacement for Cullen.
The full extent of the injuries will not be known until O’Connell and Cullen return home for further medical examination.
With Cullen and Connolly joining an injury list that includes John Kelly and Rob Henderson, Munster find themselves short of centre options for the Celtic League game against Llanelli on Tuesday next, their last outing before the Heinken Cup final.
Their opponents on May 20th, Biarritz, were beaten in the French championship today in Pau, which means they must defeat Montpelier next weekend to maintain interest in a top four play off spot.
Meanwhile, ERC, Heineken Cup organisers, have confirmed that Munster will receive an additional allocation of close to 3,000 tickets for the much anticipated Heineken Cup final.
The second allocation of 3000 tickets to Munster Rugby comes after a final reconciliation of all stakeholder allocations and includes 600 extra seats which are being especially installed in the Millennium Stadium to meet demand for the final. The tickets will be distributed by Munster Rugby.
The additional tickets will go to servicing the demands from the normal Munster outlets such as Munster clubs – the majority of the extra allocation will be distributed through the clubs as previously agreed – Munster Supporters Club, Schools, Commercial Partners and Sponsors all of whom requested more tickets than Munster were able to supply from their original allocation (7500).
