To celebrate the wonderful achievement of Munster reaching the Heineken Cup Final, Mary Immaculate College Social Club are organising a Munster Picnic on Friday afternoon May 19th @ 4.15 p.m. College management has kindly given permission for all staff to attend the picnic from 4.15 p.m. onwards. The picnic will be held on the grassy area near An Siopa – or if the weather is unco-operative, in the Students’ Lounge – and there will be some suitable “red” nibbles and drinks. So come along and join us for some refreshments on Friday evening. All we ask is that you all wear something RED on Friday in support of Munster!

At the request of Mr. Conn Murray, City Manager, Waterford City Council are currently erecting 150 Munster Rugby Flags along the main routes through the City including the N25 to Rosslare.

Cork businessman Brian Stephenson has taken a novel approach to advertising his new gourmet food bar The Apple & Bean Co. on Princes St.in Cork City. A previous employee of Paddy Power, the bookie turned barista has promised to sell all coffee for just 10c, if Munster Maestro Ronan O Gara scores a try in the Heineken Cup Final! The 10c a cup coffee promotion will apply to every coffee type on the menu, from cappucino s, to latte s to americano s and will run for one week following the game on 20th May, if O Gara scores a try.

Fermoy Town: we have received glowing reports of the efforts made by the inhabitants of the town of Fermoy to paint the town red.

Limerick Youth Centre in Lr. Glentworth St have painted the entrance steps.

Cork City Hall- thanks to Cork City Manager, Mr. Joe Gavin, Munster flags are flying from City Hall

Kerry General Hospital- thanks to Ms. Margie Lynch, General Manager, Kerry General Hospital who has kindly agreed to the flying of Munster flags on the flagpoles in front of Tralee General Hospital

The students of Desmond College, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick have come on board to turn the school Red on May 19th. They will collect 2 per student and all monies to be donated to the Injured Players Fund.

St. Munchin s School in Limerick are repainting their shed in the Munster colours

One of Cardiff s most popular pubs has been renamed The Munster Bar , as the Heineken Cup Final comes to the city s Millennium Stadium this Saturday (20 May). Kitty Flynns on St Mary Street , which is run by two Munster supporters, Dave and Mary Tobin from Cork, had team flags, banners and bunting flown in from Ireland to transform the bar especially for the Munster fans as their team take on Biarritz in the final.
