IRFU Announce AIB League Fixtures

League holder s Shannon begin their defence with a trip to Eaton Park to face Ballymena, while Garryowen travel to face Dungannon.

Difficult start for both Shannon and Garryowen in the AIB as they begin their campaigns with away trips to Ulster.

U.L. Bohemian begin their campaign with a home tie against newly promoted Terenure College and Cork Constitution will face last season s beaten finalists Clontarf at Temple Hill. UCD will be away to either Dolphin or Young Munster.

A number of matters are pending arising out of objections and complaints lodged by a few clubs which when determined will identify which of the respective clubs will be participating in Division 1 or Division 2 of the AIB League.

The IRFU regrets the delay in issuing this season s fixture list and for any inconvenience caused to the AIB League clubs as a result of the delay to date arising out of the due process of law being applied.

There are two local derbies in the Second Division. Old Crescent and Thomond will meet at Rosbrien while UCC play new comers Clonakilty at the Mardyke.

Midleton start with a home tie against Suttonians and Highfield face a difficult task away to relegated Co. Carlow.

In Division Three relegated Waterpark face a difficult opening with three of their first four games away to Ulster sides. All the other three Munster sides in this Division all begin with trips to the Northern province.
