Its Sunday For The Game In Geneva
11th December 2006 By Munster Rugby
ERC have announced that the Bourgoin versus Munster Round Five match set for Geneva will be played on Sunday 14th January with a 2pm kick-off (local time).
The news that the Bourgoin versus Munster Round Five Heineken Cup match set for Geneva will be played on Sunday 14th January kick-off 2pm local time) will be greeted with dismay by Munster supporters.
At the best of times away games set for a Sunday are far from suitable for those with work commitments the following morning. In this case getting to and from Geneva will prove financially and logistically unmanageable.
What makes ERC’s decision all the more galling is that Munster agreed to the change of venue at Bourgoin’s request. Bourgoin elected to move to the bigger stadium in order to cash in on Munster’s popularity.
Munster made representations to ERC asking them to reconsider but that appeal fell on deaf ears.
