Quinlan Appeal Unresolved
3rd January 2007 By Munster Rugby
Alan Quinlan’s appeal over the six week suspension was adjourned today until next Tuesday.
The independent Appeal Committee of Chairman Rod McKenzie (Scotland), Matthew Lohn (England) and Robert Horner (England) deliberated for over three hours without reaching a conclusion and they will sit down again next Tuesday.
Meanwhile Munster coach Declan Kidney has named a 24 strong squad from which the team to play Newport Gwent Dragons will be selected. The squad includes Anthony Foley, Marcus Horan, Mick O’Driscoll and Anthony Horgan, all returning from a bout of injury.
Foley injured a shoulder in the Heineken Cup opener against Leicester Tigers at Welford Road in mid October while Horan tore a calf muscle in the autumn international series. Mick O’Driscoll missed out on the chance to captain the side against Connacht in early December when he went over on his ankle in training the week before that game and Horgan’s last action for Munster was in the Magners League game against Ospreys at Thomond Park in November (25th).
Munster Squad: C Cullen, S Payne, I Dowling, A Horgan, T Halstead, B Murphy, L Mafi, T O’Leary, B O’Meara, J Manning, E Hickey, A Foley, D Leamy, J Coughlan, J O’Sullivan, M O’Driscoll, C Wyatt, D Ryan, P O’Connell, M Horan, T Buckley, E McGovern, A Kyriacou, F Pucciariello.
