Its Scarlets in Stradey in the Quarters.
22nd January 2007 By Munster Rugby
Munster will face Llanelli Scarlets in the quarter finals of this year’s Heineken Cup in Stradey Park on the last weekend of March.
The decision announced today will immediately have repercussions for Munster fans in that the capacity of the stadium is 10,800. That of course means that Munster’s allocation will be less than 2000 for this game
The Scarets are heavily in debt and it was thought they might move to the Liberty Stadium (20,000) to gain maximum return from a hugely attractive fixture. However even thoiugh they had until Febuary 12th to nominate a venue, they have acted swiftly in naming Stradey Park as the place where they will play the title holders.
Llanelli Scarlets went through their Pool Five unbeaten, the only club besides Biarritz to do so. The French club however had Borders and Parma to contend with, Llanelli were up against Toulouse Ulster and London Irish.
