Peter Malone To Lead AIB League Side

Peter Malone To Lead AIB League Side

In the absence through injury of David Quinlan, the AIB Club international side will be led by Peter Malone in Boroughmuir on Friday night (7pm).

The side shows two changes from the one that started against England Counties. Quinlan who skippered them that night, has been ruled out with a neck injury and his place goes to Frank Cogan, who moves up from the replacements, with Oisin Hennessy named on the bench in place of Cogan.

Hooker Matthew Crockett is also unavailable due to injury, so Kevin Corrigan will start with Damien Varley coming into the squad.

“The loss of David and Matt is unfortunate, and disappointing particularly for the players themselves. “said coach Mick Galwey. ” But we have two excellent replacements in Fank Cogan and Kevin Corrigan  and I would have no worry about their ability to perform, as both came on during the last game and played very well”.

Speaking of the 20-17 win over England Counties Galwey continued,”We were delighted with the team’s performance last time out.  They gelled together very quickly and really put it up to a physically bigger England side.  But this game is an even bigger challenge and we will have to repeat that sort of performance if we want to be in with a chance of beating the Scots on Friday.

“Overall the experience has been fantastic for the management and the players, so we want to end the season on a high note”.
