Ulster Name Strong Squad
20th March 2007 By Munster Rugby
Mark McCall today named a 23 man squad to take on Munster on Friday night at Ravenhill (Kick Off, 7 30).
Ulster welcome back their international players who have been involved in Ireland’s Six Nations campaign, Rory Best who played in every one of Ireland’s games returns to the Ulster fold as does his older brother Simon. Also included in the squad are Irish backs Isaac Boss, Andrew Trimble and Paddy Wallace. David Pollock who captained the Ireland U20s side to the Grand Slam is also included in the squad but Neil Best is not considered for selection due to injury.
McCall will announce his team on Thursday at 12noon.
According to the oficial Ulster website this all ticket match is not a sell out yet but with less than 500 terrace tickets left supporters are urged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible.
In reminding it’s readers that Ulster have everything to play for the site suggests that there’s “every possibility Ulster will face a full strength Munster team as they prepare for their Heineken Cup clash against Llanelli the following week.” Apparently, news of the injuries to Paul O’Connell, Mick O’Driscoll, Anthony Foley, Anthony Horgan, Shaun Payne and John Kelly hasn’t reached Belfast yet.
