Changes Aplenty For Munster

Internationals John Hayes, Donncha O’Callaghan, David Wallace, Jerry Flannery, Marcus Horan and Denis Leamy return to action for Munster while Keith Earls is listed among the replacements for the trip to Glasgow.

Hayes, O’Callaghan and Wallace are named in the starting line-up along with Frank Sheahan and Peter Stringer who both came on as second half replacements last time out in the game against Ospreys, while Flannery, Horan and Leamy are listed among the replacements.

All told there are eight changes, two positional,  to the side that started that day in the Liberty Stadium, Rua Tipoki moves to number 13 with Lifeimi Mafi wearing the number 12 shirt and the return of John Hayes sees Tony Buckley switch to loosehead prop.

Elsewhere, O’Callaghan takes over from Mark Melbourne who is named on the bench, Niall Ronan earns a well deserved breather with Wallace getting the openside berth in a side that once again will be led by Anthony Foley winning his 184th competitive Munster cap.

Glasgow Warriors’ only home loss in any competition since September 2006 was 8-19 to Ulster at Hughenden on 6 January 2007 and while the last three encounters between the two teams have been won by the home side on the day, Munster’s last win in Glasgow was 28-26 at Hughenden on 9 October 2004.

Munster: S Payne; B Carney, R Tipoki, L Mafi, I Dowling; P Warwick, P Stringer; T Buckley, F Sheahan, J Hayes; D O’Callaghan, M O’Driscoll; A Quinlan, D Wallace, A Foley capt.

Replacements: J Flannery, M Horan, M Melbourne, D Leamy, T O’Leary, J Manning, K Earls.
