Introducing – James Coughlan

James Coughlan made his Munster senior competitive debut just over a year ago in the opening Magners League game against Cardiff Blues at the Arms Park.

The Dolphin clubman did so as a Development contracted player, finished the season with nine caps to his credit and impressed sufficently to earn himself a full contract this time around. He travelled to the States for Munster game with the US Eagles in August and has featured in four of Munster five Magners League games to date.

 

Favourite Food: Italian

Book you are currently reading or have just finished: The Women Who Walked Into Doors by Roddey Doyle.

Favourite Film: The Godfather

Most enjoyable holiday location:  South Africa.

Favourite sport other than rugby:  Football

The sport you least like:  Baseball.

Person you would most like to meet:  George Bush.

Sportsperson you admire most:  Roy Keane.

Hobbies:  My son Finn keeps me too busy for hobbies.

Where and when did you first play rugby:  Old Christians under 10s.

Biggest influence on career:  My parents.

Best career advice you were given:  Enjoy every minute.

What you like most//least about being a rugby player:  Being paid for something you love/Paul Darbshire our ftness coach

Other sports that you played:  Hurling, football, soccer.

Best rugby memory:  Three schools cup for Christians (esp. for Decky).

Rugby player you admire most:  Jonah Lomu.

Rugby team you admire most:  Argentina.

Sporting event you would most like to attend:  Super Bowl.

If you weren’t a pro rugby player what would you be:  PE Teacher.

Plans for life after rugby and what provision have you made:   As above.

Advice you would give to aspiring pro rugby player:  Never give up. 

Three people you would invite to dinner and why:  My partner Katri,  my son Finn and my aunt Pauline because they give out to me the last time for not putting them in
