BDO ‘s Three Year Munster Rugby Sponsorship.

Munster Rugby today announced a new three year sponsorship with BDO Simpson Xavier who will remain as their Official Business Advisors.

 The sponsorship and business advisory role will result in the Limerick firm working with Munster Rugby across a range of commercial areas that includes accounting, finance, recruitment, taxation and marketing.  This is the second sponsorship deal between Munster Rugby and BDO Simpson Xavier who started as Official Business Advisors in 2004. 

Commenting on the new three year deal Managing Partner of BDO Simpson Xavier, Brian McGann said ‘the firm is delighted to be re-appointed as the business advisors to Munster Rugby.  We are uniquely positioned to work with Munster Rugby due to the broad range of services we provide’. He added ‘We were reflecting on where Munster Rugby was when we first started out as Official Business Advisors in 2004 and the progress it has made in the meantime.  Great credit is due to Munster Rugby and it’s executive for the advances they have made commercially and in particular, the redevelopment of the new Munster Rugby Stadium in Limerick.’ 

Sales & Marketing Manager with Munster Rugby, Glyn Billinghurst welcomed the new sponsorship deal by explaining ‘the development of the professional game and the pace of change have brought many new challenges for us.  Munster Rugby has developed into a significant commercial entity requiring advice across a variety of business areas.  Similar to any team performing on the pitch, successful businesses need access to the best resources and advice.’ 

He added ‘This partnership provides us with great reassurance as we embark on an ambitious programme of commercial growth over the next few years. We identified BDO Simpson Xavier as having the right mix of skills and supports we need to operate as effectively off the pitch as we hope for on the pitch’.

Earlier this year BDO Simpson Xavier became the first Sponsorship Partner of the Munster Rugby Academy.  This sponsorship will result in all members of the Munster Rugby Academy receiving new laptops for their educational and rugby analysis purposes.
