Munster trail at half-time in the Sportsground

A try from Danny Riordan has Connacht 5-3 in the lead against Munster at a wet and windswept Sportsground tonight.

Munster played into a stiff breeze in the opening half and went into the lead in the sixth minute when Warwick landed a penalty from the left.

They looked like they’d extended their lead when Doug Howlett collected a clever Warwick kick-through but the ball clipped the referee’s leg and the score was disallowed.

Warwick had another opportunity to extend their lead but his 33rd minute penalty came back off an upright and just before the break Connacht took the lead when Danny Riordan scampered over in the corner.

Half-time Connacht 5-3 Munster.
