The Build Up With Heineken…

In the run up to this weekend’s Quarter Finals, Heineken introduce an exclusive series of podcasts, and unique photo opportunities for travelling supporters.

Heineken are encouraging all Munster fans to get to Cork and Shannon airport in plenty of time in advance of the Heineken Cup Quarter Final to allow time to take photos with specially commissioned 15ft Heineken Cup statues, similar to those in their outdoor advertising. These statues depict a memorable moment from the Munster v Gloucester ‘miracle match’.

Heineken have also commissioned a 6-part exclusive series of rugby podcasts for the upcoming Heineken Cup games, as the season builds toward an exciting finish. The ?Heineken Off The Ball Rugby Podcast? will bring together Eoin McDevitt of Newstalk and Gerry Thornley of the Irish Times for expert analysis and discussion.  They will be joined by Off The Ball regulars such as Donal Lenihan, Emmet Byrne, Victor Costello and Mick Galwey, as well as some of the biggest international names to play the game.

The first 30 minute podcast went live at 9am this morning, featuring a preview of the Heineken Cup quarter finals, in particular Munster?s quarter final tie with Gloucester. The podcast can be downloaded from www.newstalk.ie

The Heineken Off The Ball Rugby Podcast schedule:
w/c 31st March
w/c 7th April
w/c 21st April
w/c 28th April
w/c 19th May Final
w/c 26th May Final and Overall Review of Tournament

David Moore, Heineken Sponsorships Manager commented: ?As a brand with a long standing and deep connection with rugby, we wanted to bring something unique to Irish rugby fans and to that end we decided to create unique rugby content in the form of a downloadable weekly rugby podcast. Newstalk’s Off the Ball show, like Heineken have a passion for excellence in sport and rugby so they were a natural fit for this.?

On behalf of Heineken, the Off The Ball team are producing these six exclusive rugby podcasts. The Off the Ball presenters, Eoin McDevitt and Simon Hicks will add their own unique style to the podcasts.
